Animal Adventure Tours is a U.S. based company, located in Cape Coral, Florida specializing in private and semiprivate tours to the Amazon region of South America and Costa Rica in Central America. It is headed by Robert Perez, born in New York in 1966 of Cuban parents, a heritage which enabled him to become bi-lingual, speaking fluent Spanish and English. Always interested in insects, reptiles and primates from early childhood, Robert was fascinated with the Amazon region. During his early twenties, he found employment in jobs that involved reptiles and amphibians. Working with them, he gained a wide scope of knowledge about their care and natural environment. An avid scuba diver, he expanded his interest to the aquatic wildlife. He began traveling in his early thirties with his family, beginning with a trip to Central America, which included Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama & El
Salvador. His fascination with what he experienced there took him back many times. Later he traveled to Southeast Asia, where he lived for a short time in Thailand. While there, he traveled throughout Thailand, going to different jungles, experiencing a variety of activities such as riding elephants on the borders of the jungles of Burma and river rafting, while exploring for reptiles and insects. Another trip to a remote part of Sumatra, Indonesia brought him in
close proximity to orangutans. Each new area of travel added to his knowledge of nature and wildlife.

But, his first love was South America. The virgin rainforests of the Amazon were of particular interest to him. He returned there to further explore countries such as Peru, Surinam, Guyana & Trinidad. His love of the majestic rainforest made him think that other people might also enjoy the wonders of nature and wildlife. Having done some private tours for small groups of people in Asia & Central America, he began looking for a way to make touring affordable for all, to bring people into close proximity to nature and animals, so they, too, can learn to enjoy them and by doing that, protect them for future generations. Animal Adventure Tours is the culmination of this dream.Ten percent of all profits from these tours are returned to the indigenous people of Iquitos, Peru and El Salvador.
